Faith is a Force

August 25, 2023

I’ve been hearing a lot about faith recently. But not in the way that most people think of faith. Most people think of “faith” as your religion or your denomination or a feeling of hope in the midst of a trial. Some people think of faith as your belief in God or Jesus, which is true and good. But there is more to it. Faith is something that actually works, it actually changes things, and it actually moves things. Faith is a force. We have to think deeper about our faith. Faith in Jesus is what received your salvation on your behalf. Jesus did the thing that was needed to set you free and extend salvation, but your faith believed it and received the free gift. Faith is what brings the unseen into the seen. Hebrews 11:1 best explains this, let’s read it. Hebrews 11:1, TPT, “Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.”

Abraham is the greatest teacher of faith, he is the prime example. I always get so inspired in my own faith when I read his story. So let’s read about the faith of Abraham in Hebrews 11:17-19, TPT, “Faith operated powerfully in Abraham for when he was put to the test he offered up Isaac. Even though he received God’s promises of descendants, he was willing to offer up his only son! For God had promised, “Through your son Isaac your lineage will carry on your name.” Abraham’s faith made it logical to him that God could raise Isaac from the dead, and symbolically, that’s exactly what happened.” Beyond the circumstance Abraham was facing, he remembered what God said and he clung to that promise by faith. He was confronting the situation that his son would die before he had the opportunity to produce offspring so he could carry on Ahraham’s name. Yet God said, “Through Isaac your lineage will carry on.” Abraham remembered the Word of God and believed that word above the circumstances he faced. That’s crazy, Abraham’s faith was so sure that it accomplished that which he believed for.

We need to follow this example in our own lives. As we look at a situation and face the circumstances it is imperative to remember what God said in His Word about it and cling to that in faith. (If we face something where we are not certain what God’s perspective is, then we must find out.) But we have to believe the Word from God so certainly that our faith in the spirit realm affects our lives in the natural realm. Our faith reaches into the spirit realm and grabs the Word from God and pulls it into the natural realm where we live. The unseen affects the seen. Bulldogs are said to be able to lock their jaws when they bite down on something. Therefore, it’s basically impossible to get out whatever is locked in their jaws. Technically, they cannot literally lock their jaws, they just have a special strength in that area to keep hold of whatever is in their grasp. This is how we need to be with our promises from the Word of God about the issues of life. We need to bite down on that promise and hold onto it no matter what our circumstances try to do to get us to let go of it! If we lock down on that promise and do not let it go, the promise will prevail and we will walk it out as our reality. Our faith has the ability to completely turn around our circumstances. But the key to victory is to believe that our own life experiences or the experiences of others cannot negate or override what the Word says. You may have experienced difficulty or extreme challenge or even devastation. But that does not mean that the promise that said otherwise was untrue. Keep pressing in - persevere long and continue in your quest to believe and build yourself up in your faith. Lock in like those bulldogs do. The Word is always right, it always does its job. So don’t give up and get your bulldog self on, and be like Abraham. Choose to believe the Word of God as the highest truth above what the circumstances look like in the natural realm and bring the unseen realm to life in your life now!

I like to close each teaching with an invitation to salvation for anyone that has not yet welcomed Jesus into their life. Maybe you’ve read this and felt a pull on your heart. Maybe you’re in a place where you just need a solution. If so, this was meant for you and if you’re ready for the “moreness” of God, then believe in your heart and say out loud the following prayer: “Jesus, I repent for my sins, please forgive me for living a life apart from You. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died on the cross for my sins and were raised to life again. I confess you as Lord over my life. Take my life and do something with it. And I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name amen.”

It’s as simple as that. Welcome to the family! That is solely the most important decision you will ever make. If you prayed that prayer, please send us an email and let us know. We would love to help get you connected to a Life-filled church in your area and help you get started on your journey of “moreness” with God.
