Pray Your Way Through Ephesians- Eph. 1

March 8, 2024

Welcome for another Friday Devo! Recently I have been studying through Ephesians and realized how prayer-filled Ephesians is! This book is packed full of transformational lessons that will leave your life looking completely revamped! I love that the church of Ephesus was one of the only churches that was not receiving a rebuke from the apostle Paul in the letter he was sending to them. That shows their spiritual maturity and success in their walk of faith. And that makes me want to pray what Paul is expressing to them so that the Holy Spirit can level up my life. So over the next few weeks we will be walking through the book of Ephesians and praying through each chapter. I will give you prayers that you can pray over yourself, your family, and your endeavors.

Ephesians 1 SUMMARY

In this first chapter of Ephesians Paul greets the church and goes on to explain salvation in Christ. Christ’s blood is our redemption that makes us right with God. God places His Holy Spirit in us to be the seal upon our hearts to show us as the redeemed ones and impart our inheritance to us through the Holy Spirit.

Paul shortly thereafter praises the Church at Ephesus for their solid faith in Jesus and for their love for God’s people. Then Paul goes on to pray the following very powerful prayer over them. I have changed it to the first person perspective as a prayer over yourself and your family.

Ephesians 1:17-19 (AMPC) PRAYER

For I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that You would grant to us a spirit of wisdom and revelation of insight into mysteries and secrets in the deep and intimate knowledge of Him,

By having the eyes of our hearts flooded with light, so that we can know and understand the hope to which You, Father, have called us, and how rich is Your glorious inheritance in the saints (Your set-apart one) that’s us!

And so that we can know and understand what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of Your power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of Your mighty strength.

In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Wow! We could just sit on this prayer forever! It is so saturated with power. I don’t want us to miss how important it is that this prayer becomes a reality in our lives! When this prayer begins to produce fruit in our lives, it will completely explode every area in our lives with goodness! We want more of Jesus and we want to understand the things of Him in a much deeper way and this prayer is bringing that into fulfillment in our lives. God’s answers to His promises are yes and amen (2 Cor. 1:20) so when we pray this prayer which comes to us directly inspired by the Holy Spirit, He is for sure to come through for us. I believe God desires us to boldly and excitedly pray this prayer so He can flood our inner selves with the knowledge of Him. As much as we want to know Him and the things of His kingdom more and more, He wants that for us ALL the more! He is waiting and ready to impart this greatness and power to us!

I urge you to meditate on this prayer a bit and begin to boldly pray this powerful anointed prayer for you and your family daily. I believe you can expect the light of revelation to flood in every area of your life. God wants you to know Him in more than just your quiet time. He wants you to know Him in your job, your chores, your relationships, your money, your travels, in all that you do.

See you back here next week as we continue to pray through Ephesians!

I like to close each teaching with an invitation to salvation for anyone that has not yet welcomed Jesus into their life. Maybe you’ve read this and felt a pull on your heart. Maybe you’re in a place where you just need a solution. If so, this was meant for you and if you’re ready for the “moreness” of God, then believe in your heart and say out loud the following prayer: “Jesus, I repent for my sins, please forgive me for living a life apart from You. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died on the cross for my sins and were raised to life again. I confess you as Lord over my life. Take my life and do something with it. And I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name amen.”

It’s as simple as that. Welcome to the family! That is solely the most important decision you will ever make. If you prayed that prayer, please send us an email and let us know. We would love to help get you connected to a Life-filled church in your area and help you get started on your journey of “moreness” with God.
