Pray Your Way Through Ephesians- Eph. 2

March 15, 2024

Hi friends! I hope you had a super blessed week! Welcome back for week 2 of “Pray Your Way through Ephesians.” Ephesians is such an amazing road map to follow if you desire your life to look more like Jesus. One it’s best aspects is that Ephesians is such a prayerful book. When I read through Ephesians I constantly find myself saying “Holy Spirit help me to do this ____” (insert whatever advice Paul is explaining to the Ephesians). Together we are going chapter by chapter and praying what Ephesians leads us pray. Praying God’s life-giving word is so powerful and clear. When we pray God’s word we are praying God’s will for us. So let’s jump into chapter 2.

Ephesians 2 SUMMARY

In this second chapter of Ephesians Paul explains that before Christ we all lived according to the flesh, living under the rulership of satan. BUT God came through and made a way out for us through Jesus. We are saved by grace through faith (in Jesus). Jesus removed the dividing line between Jews and gentiles, creating “one new humanity” that gave both Jews and gentiles the same exact access to the Father by giving us His spirit. Ephesians 2 does not have an exact prayer that Paul prayed for the church at Ephesus, but we can take the truths he speaks and pray that the Holy Spirit empowers us to live in these truths.

Ephesians 2 PRAYER

Thank you Father for rescuing me. I was once dead, but You have now made me alive through the great sacrifice of Jesus. I am so grateful that I no longer have to live under the rulership of satan or be governed by sin. I believe that I have been made new and no longer live according to the flesh, and I ask You to help me renew my mind and to not gratify the cravings of the flesh or follow its desires and thoughts. Thank you for Your great love and mercy! Empower me to live out the reality of being seated with Christ in heavenly places in my daily life. God, I am Your handiwork born anew through Jesus. Help me to truly understand this and enable me to do those good works that You predestined for me to walk in- living the good life which You made ready for me to live. Thank you for being my peace and for uniting both Jews and gentiles into one unified humanity able to live under the same salvation and blessing. Cause me to lose the “stranger” mentality and take up the “fellow citizen” mentality, truly understanding my new identity in Christ as a member of Your household! Father, I want to be a dwelling in which your spirit lives. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Take time to pray through Ephesians often. Believe God will bring it to pass in your life. We can be sure that He will because we are praying His own words! Also ask the Holy Spirit to help you recognize as these prayers come to pass in your life. See you back here next week!

I like to close each teaching with an invitation to salvation for anyone that has not yet welcomed Jesus into their life. Maybe you’ve read this and felt a pull on your heart. Maybe you’re in a place where you just need a solution. If so, this was meant for you and if you’re ready for the “moreness” of God, then believe in your heart and say out loud the following prayer: “Jesus, I repent for my sins, please forgive me for living a life apart from You. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died on the cross for my sins and were raised to life again. I confess you as Lord over my life. Take my life and do something with it. And I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name amen.”

It’s as simple as that. Welcome to the family! That is solely the most important decision you will ever make. If you prayed that prayer, please send us an email and let us know. We would love to help get you connected to a Life-filled church in your area and help you get started on your journey of “moreness” with God.
