Pray Your Way Through Ephesians- Eph. 3

March 22, 2024

Happy Friday Devo Day! We are on week three of praying our way through Ephesians. Each week we have been breaking down the summary of the chapter we are focusing on then praying over our lives what the apostle Paul is calling forth. I particularly love to pray God’s Word out loud over my life. There’s something even more powerful and faith-building about speaking and praying the Word out loud. It goes from your tongue into your ears and into your heart. How does faith come? By hearing and hearing by the Word… that is true whether you are saying it and hearing or if someone else is saying and you are hearing it! It is ‘result driven’ prayer in my experience. So let’s jump right into chapter 3.

Ephesians 3 SUMMARY

In this chapter Paul teaches that gentiles, (all non-jews), are “heirs” together with Israel, “members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise of Christ Jesus.” He makes it known that it is his mission to preach salvation and the riches of Christ specifically to the gentiles, (all non-jews). Also he tells us that through Jesus we can now approach God with freedom and confidence because we are made the righteousness of Jesus. In Ephesians 3, Paul prays a specific prayer over the Ephesians again. I will write it in first person perspective so we can pray directly over our lives.

Ephesians 3: 16-20 (AMPC) PRAYER

Father, will you grant us out of the rich treasury of Your glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in our inner man by the Holy Spirit Himself indwelling our inmost being and personality.

Will you Jesus, through our faith actually dwell, settle down, abide, make Your permanent home, in our hearts! I pray we are rooted deep in love and founded securely on love; Your love in us.

Grant to us the power and ability to be strong, to apprehend and to grasp with all the saints (God’s devoted people) the experience of that love, what is the breadth and length and height and depth of it;

Help us to really come to know, (practically through experience for ourselves), the love of You Jesus Christ which far surpasses mere knowledge; that we may be filled through all our being unto all the fullness of God, that we may have the richest measure of Your divine presence and become a body wholly filled and flooded with You, God, Yourself.

Now to You, who by the action of Your power that is at work within us, is able to carry out Your purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams.

To You be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.

This prayer will take your breath away! It almost seems crazy that God would have Paul pray something so huge over this group of people. But I love that so much because it shows God’s desire to impart huge things to us. It also puts such an emphasis on Christ’s love! My attention draws specifically to that. It is such a big part of this prayer and it causes me to desire to understand, experience, and exuberate that love to those around me. This is such an important prayer to be praying OFTEN over ourselves and our families. So take a moment to bask in this prayer, pray it outloud and in faith. I can’t wait to see how God makes this come to life in your lives!

I like to close each teaching with an invitation to salvation for anyone that has not yet welcomed Jesus into their life. Maybe you’ve read this and felt a pull on your heart. Maybe you’re in a place where you just need a solution. If so, this was meant for you and if you’re ready for the “moreness” of God, then believe in your heart and say out loud the following prayer: “Jesus, I repent for my sins, please forgive me for living a life apart from You. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died on the cross for my sins and were raised to life again. I confess you as Lord over my life. Take my life and do something with it. And I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name amen.”

It’s as simple as that. Welcome to the family! That is solely the most important decision you will ever make. If you prayed that prayer, please send us an email and let us know. We would love to help get you connected to a Life-filled church in your area and help you get started on your journey of “moreness” with God.
