Seek the Savior

April 14, 2023

Lately, I have been getting caught up in just simply Jesus. Intentionally sowing into that place where catching a glimpse of His face is my daily goal. When life is distracting, decisions have to be made, and the pressure is on, I’ve noticed that my focus can be on figuring out the next step. But I need to just seek the Savior. I have found out if I am seeking the Savior, I am also seeking the Solution. He is the solution to everything I am trying to navigate in my life. When I seek Him I am simultaneously receiving clarity to my situation. Solutions, help, healing, freedom, and breakthrough are all residual effects of knowing the One that is the source of each of those things. So let us readjust our focus and dial in on our love for the Savior of our souls. Whether you’re already seeking His face or you know you need to start today, there are always deeper levels to falling madly in love with the Beloved.

John 8:12, TPT, “Then Jesus said, “I am light to the world, and those who embrace me will experience life-giving light, and they will never walk in darkness.” Embrace, meet with, love on, look at, seek Jesus because HE HIMSELF is the light. When we find the Light the darkness flees, the questions leave, the confusion and cloudiness is eradicated. We can finally see our situations clearly and our steps become sure. It is not up to us to figure out our situations. It is not our job to constantly try and try to see clearly. Jesus is that light and clarity that we need to walk through this life successfully. When we get close to the Light, the Light illuminates the darkness and causes us to see clearly.

John 14:6, TPT, “Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me. To know me is to know my Father too.” Once we become born again and are connected to God, we are immediately connected to the source of all life. That is the One that gives us breath and physical life, but also the One that gives us the event of life- our daily paths, relationships, opportunities, passions, and callings. He orchestrated all that we are. When we go after just Jesus we are inherently going straight toward the Life of our lives. It gets harder to be distracted, confused, chaotic, moved, etc. As we seek the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life we are seeking the Way, the Truth, and the Life of our own paths, lives, solutions, and the answers.

Recently, I’ve been going through a time of sensing the Lord’s leading into different directions in life. But at the same time, the whole vision of what it looks like is still a bit foggy. I have an overwhelmingly strong, knowing on the inside of me, the direction, but what it truly looks like in real life is not as obvious. For a while, I was very concerned over practically- what did this look like in my everyday life. That was my focus, and that left me feeling insecure and not peaceful. But then I decided to stop seeking the thing and to seek Jesus, I began getting in His presence, reading His word, desiring to get close to Him and to love on Him. I would sit in his love-and that’s when I started to see things more clearly, and confirmations started to come. But the biggest thing wasn’t that I got a clear picture of what it is in real life, because I didn’t get that yet, but it was the peace of being close to Jesus, knowing that He knows, and if I’m walking with Him then I’m not gonna miss it. That’s what gave me peace and confidence and excitement to walk into it.

We read this verse in a previous devotional but it holds true here as well. Read again Matthew 6:33, TPT, “So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.” We must seek Jesus first, He makes it so simple, seek Him first and all else is taken care of. Jesus is truly and deeply head over heels in love with us! And He longs for our love in return. He longs for it so much that He makes it the easy choice to love Him first by saying to us, “If you love Me first and seek Me only, I’ll make sure everything else in your life is abundantly taken care of.” Our Lover makes Himself the Light for our lives, the Way, Truth, Life for our paths, simply so our love and affection will be directed towards Him. He just wants us. Jesus taking on Himself the load to bear all that we could ever need or want is the act of pulling us close to Him. 1 John 4:7, TPT, “Those who are loved by God, let his love continually pour from you to one another, because God is love. Everyone who loves is fathered by God and experiences an intimate knowledge of him.” God is love, that is the essence of Him. He gives endless uncontaminated love. But the other thing about love is that it desires love in return.

We are the bride of Jesus. We have been called into a holy matrimony with the Savior. When Jesus comes back for His bride we will be forever united with our eternal Husband. But the day you said yes to Jesus to receive salvation, you said yes to His proposal of marriage. It is the same in our earthly marriages. We spend time with, we love on, we speak to, we invest in our relationship with our spouse. We must do the same with Jesus.

I implore you to go back to your first Love this week. You know, God created our imaginations. He created what they can do. So use yours for its godly purpose. Close your eyes, imagine you are sitting at the feet of the Beloved. Talk to Him, look up into His face and see His eyes of fiery passion that loves you endlessly and completely and fully. Lock eyes with the one that gave His everything for the opportunity to be once again connected to the love of His life. There is a transformation that comes to you in those moments. Find Him, He’s waiting for you.

I like to close each teaching with an invitation to salvation for anyone that has not yet welcomed Jesus into their life. Maybe you’ve read this and felt a pull on your heart. Maybe you’re in a place where you just need a solution. If so, this was meant for you and if you’re ready for the “moreness” of God, then believe in your heart and say out loud the following prayer: “Jesus, I repent for my sins, please forgive me for living a life apart from You. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died on the cross for my sins and were raised to life again. I confess you as Lord over my life. Take my life and do something with it. And I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name amen.”

It’s as simple as that. Welcome to the family! That is solely the most important decision you will ever make. If you prayed that prayer, please send us an email and let us know. We would love to help get you connected to a Life-filled church in your area and help you get started on your journey of “moreness” with God.
